To start working with domains go to the System > Domains section.
Start domain setup by clicking on the New DNS button. You’ll be prompted to fill out information about the domain you want to add:
Enter Domain Details:
Name: Enter the second-level domain name (e.g., ucliq.com).
CDN: Select a CDN (Content Delivery Network) for traffic balancing.
Comment: Optionally, add any notes or comments about the domain’s usage.
Set Up Name Servers:
Click Next, and UCLIQ will display four Name Server (NS) addresses.
Log in to your domain registrar (like Namecheap or GoDaddy) and replace the existing NS records with the ones provided by UCLIQ.
Save the settings in your registrar’s portal.
Propagation and SSL Certificate:
After updating the NS records, it may take 15 minutes to 24 hours for changes to propagate.
UCLIQ will detect the change and issue an SSL certificate automatically, securing the domain for use.
Configuring Domain Usage
Once the domain is active, specify its purpose in UCLIQ:
Go to the Allocation Tab: In the Domains section, switch to the Allocation tab.
Allocate Domain Usage: Click Allocate Domain to assign the domain for specific uses:
-
Offer Campaigns: For tracking links used in offer campaigns.
Smart Links: For automatic routing and smart link generation.
Short Links: For generating shortened links with fixed parameters.
-
Private Setting (Optional): Make the domain private if you only want managers to use it. Publishers won’t see private domains when creating links.
If you need multiple purposes for one domain, repeat this allocation process as needed.
Domain Operations
UCLIQ allows flexibility in managing domains across campaigns:
-
Replace: Swap one domain for another across all campaigns and shortlinks.
-
Split: Distribute campaigns between an old and a new domain.
-
Transfer: Move campaigns and links from one domain to another entirely.
These operations help you maintain domain health and optimize traffic flow. For example, if a domain becomes too loaded, you can split its campaigns with a new domain to balance usage.
Monitoring and Managing Domain Health
-
UCLIQ monitors SSL certificates and checks domains against spam lists.
-
If a domain is flagged or blocked, transfer its campaigns to an alternative domain to ensure uninterrupted service.
Removing a Domain
-
Check for Active Campaigns: Ensure no campaigns or short links use the domain.
-
Replace or Transfer Campaigns: If campaigns are using the domain, replace or transfer them to another domain.
-
Delete the Domain: Once all uses are removed, delete the domain from the system.
